In 2013, at the North American Handmade Bicycle Show, we featured a unique approach to documenting framebuilder showcases entitled “Head Shots and Head Tubes.” Now, over ten years later, we did it at MADE…
Similarly to how dogs and their owners bear reflective qualities, framebuilders embed pieces of their personalities into their brands. “Head Shots and Head Tubes” is a fun way to showcase this.
While documenting over eighty bicycles, Josh and John made sure to grab some additional photos to make this gallery just as iconic as the original. They didn’t document every builder or bicycle, but this is by far the most extensive coverage of a framebuilder showcase.
Tomorrow concludes our 2024 MADE Bike Show coverage, and we’re both exhausted and elated at this year’s effort. Thanks for reading, commenting, sharing, and engaging with this coverage. It means the world to feel an outpouring of support for the framebuilding community and our little corner of the web over here at The Radavist.
Each and every one of these talented individuals pour their everything into these Beautiful Bicycles. Nothing they do is easy, nor is it incredibly lucrative; it comes from the heart. Support your local builder and maker. And thank you for supporting this independent publication!
