The Actofive I-TRAIN MK2 is Now Fully CNC Machined In-House

As seen in our recent Bespoked event coverage, Dresden-based Actofive has made some exciting updates to the I-TRAIN trail/downcountry platform. Designed to be active, ultra-efficient, and super fun, the Actofive I-TRAIN MK2 is a CNC machined full-suspension frame with 120, 130, or 140 mm of rear wheel travel and up to 150 mm in the front. Let’s take a closer look below…

Versatile and Variable

The I-TRAIN offers various travel settings that make it a very versatile platform for all your riding. With 120mm, 130mm, and 140mm of rear wheel travel you can really dial in your favourite setup. All the below options are achieved with just using different shock lengths. It works plug and play; no rocker or frame modification is necessary! And due to its leverage ratio, you can even mount a coil shock.

Just like the longer travel P-TRAIN, the I-TRAIN gets an ADJUSTABLE RIDE° (AR°) headset system to enable headtube angle adjustment by one degree. This level of adjustment is huge, especially when paired with the versatility of the platform as a whole and the adjustable rear suspension travel.

With the included Flip Chips you can set the chassis height to Neutral, High and Low.

CNC Machined

Actofive are experts in CNC. So why not machine thin shell elements and bond them together by adhesive to achieve a lightweight hollow construction? The use of 7075-T6 aluminum leads to an excellent weight-to-strength ratio. It is thus not surprising that with 1.400 g, this main frame triangle beats lightweight records. And by the way, they make it look pretty damn cool, too.

The I-TRAIN MK2 is now completed by CNC-machined seat stays and chainstays, which make the frame look virtually fashioned from one piece.

Anodized Aluminum

ACTOFIVE also loves colors and and gives customers free rein when it comes to designing their dream bike.

You can choose between different colors plus raw aluminum and combinations.

The anodizing takes place before the frame halves are bonded together and is not reversible. But don’t worry! Anodizing is extremely resistant against everything the trail will challenge you with.

Short Travel for Many Reasons

Short travel means efficiency, agility and response. For Actofive, there are so many reasons to ride short travel bikes, from long days in the woods as well as quick sessions with maximum fun.

EFFICIENCY—The precisely designed four-bar kinematics balance a high anti-squat value and a favorable pedal kickback. In other words, if you push hard, the bike feels firm. When you get loose, the suspension works sensitively but with high support and a lively character.

FUN – Agility and response combined with low, long and mid-slack geometry. The I-TRAIN will be your best buddy for all types of terrain, even when it gets rowdy.

Adjustable Pivot

A new feature is the ADJUSTABLE PIVOT°. The frame provides four different main pivot settings, which allow different Anti-Squat behaviors. (The main pivot is located between the chainstay and the main frame)

  • POSITION 1: A good base setup with high-level Anti-Squat and low Pedal Kickback. This Position is the same as the MK1 I-TRAIN.
  • POSITION 2: A more efficient setup with higher Anti-Squat and medium Pedal Kickback. That’s the recommended setup.
  • POSITION 3: A super efficient setup with high Anti-Squat but noticeable Pedal Kickback. Use it for Downcountry, 34T chainrings, or with Ochain.
  • POSITION4: An extreme setup providing a mini High Pivot feeling. It is only recommended with Ochain or similar systems.
