ENVE just introduced the Hex Gravel tire ($75) which is now available in 40 and 44 mm widths. The HEX is designed for all-around performance in a fast-rolling package. Its hexagonal tread block can flex and conform to terrain for sure-footed handling in a variety of conditions…
The Hex Gravel tire features a double-layer of sidewall tread, which all but eliminates sidewall folding, while increasing traction. There’s a sub-tread reinforcement barrier to help prevent pinch flats and a Kevlar bead to keep the tubeless tire seated properly — all with a classic gum wall side…
Specs:
- A chafer strip at the tire bead for greater pinch-flat protection
- Sub-tread -tread barrier provides anti-flat protection without diminishing rolling efficiency or ride quality
- Kevlar bead optimized for hookless rims
- Doubling up of the sidewall tread increases cornering traction and decrease in tearing
- Side nobs of various size and heigh angle outward for articulating tread blocks that increase cornering traction
- De-coupled tread blocs enable the casing to flex and conform to terrain, maximizing traction and rolling performance
- Hexagonal block shape allows a three-way flex pattern to add casing suppleness to conform to varied surfaces
- A “cat tongue” tread pattern provides both driving and braking traction
- Weights 430 grams (40mm) and 450 grams (44mm)
- $75 USD
