MADE Bike Show Australia 2024 Show Gallery

Rounding out our MADE Bike Show Australia coverage with photos from the Bicycle Roadshow, vendors, people, and views inside the DISC Velodrome…

MADE Bike Show Australia made its home inside the Melbourne DISC Velodrome. I love when bike showcases are held in velodromes. They’re spacious without being a convention center. The DISC is incredibly photogenic and made for a fun backdrop against Australia’s finest makers and brands.

What stole the show on Saturday was the Bicycle Road Show, a novel idea that show attendees could bring out their best bicycles to display. It ran the gamut from pre war bicycles to modern fixed gears and everything in between. I walked the perimeter early Saturday before the crowds showed up to document as many as I could. Check them all out in the gallery.

Early Friday morning I was able to document the brand showcase’s booths of which Off Course stole the show. The bike shop brought a massive setup, displaying the shop’s new branding (formerly Commuter Cycles) as well as each of its in-house brands. Seeing Baum Cycles on display is always a pleasure and Velocraft‘s rolling canvases are the finest around.

The standout product for me was Harry from Hungry‘s folding camp chair prototype. He had Olson from Loop Cycles weld the frames and he made the fabric seating, complete with MOLLE attachment bags for the back. While obviously too large for bicycle camping, these chairs would be right at home at a campsite or in a workshop/factory space. Keep me posted on these, Harry!

While these are bicycle showcases, the people are what make the event special. I was able to get a portrait of the Australian bag makers who were displaying at MADE, as well as the show’s brand and builders attending before the show booth’s break down.

I’d like to thank FYXO for flying me out to document the Melburn Roobaix weekend, MADE, and Melbourne businesses! It’s an honor to be appreciated by a small family event organization. Many thanks to all the makers, builders, and brands who expressed gratitude for the coverage. Y’all made my weekend extra special.

Til’ next time!
