Manitou was the original mountain bike suspension option for 90s hardtails and to commemorate its legacy, the brand brought back its OG logos and styling on one of the best looking forks we’ve seen: Mattoc Pro Limited Edition ($1,099.99). Let’s check it out.
The original Manitou fork was versatile by necessity when, regardless of your discipline, there was one choice for your suspension needs. The new Manitou Mattoc Pro Limited Edition borrows its iconic look from 1992 yet takes all the technology from 2024 and packs it in a 34mm stanchion 29” wheel package that spans multiple riding disciplines.
Out of the box, the Mattoc Pro LE is configured to 140mm travel. With the travel spacers included in the box, along with the easy-to-follow service instructions found on Manitoumtb.com, the travel can be internally adjusted from 110-150mm.
Weighing in at 1750g, a 59g savings over its predecessor, the lightweight 34mm chassis owes its stiffness to key Manitou technologies, most notably the reverse arch. The polished crown is heavily machined both internally and externally, removing any excess weight while optimizing the chassis stiffness.
