Man oh man. This is a grail track bike for most people and City Grounds did an exceptional job on the build! See more at the City Grounds blog.

Alfred for the Winged Store
Alfred was one of the first bike messengers I saw in action in NYC that made me realize some people were born to ride a track bike. He’s fast and flows two steps ahead of traffic in any situation. Put him in the mix to race Monster Track and he’ll surprise you.
Check out Alfred’s cap at the Winged Store!

Hrrundel: Melted Cinelli Laser
I love the vintage Cinelli Laser track bike. The low pros and pursuits are nice, but the lines of the true track model never get old. Hrrundel has been playing with some studio photos of this bike and I found this one in particular worth the share. See more at the Hrrundel Flickr.

Cinelli Laser Nostra RED Auction
I was a bit surprised to see this on the Jony and Marc’s RED auction list. While I’ll always prefer the vintage models, the modern Laser Nostra continues the tradition of that iconic look with a modern geometry and details. If you’ve got between $10k and $15k sitting under your mattress, it might be time to sign up to bid! See more information at Sotheby’s.

Team Raleigh Track
“Red and yellow, kill a fellow…”
Maybe that’s why I love these old Team Raleigh track bikes? There’s something venomous about them. Like some predatory beast, I loved looking at the old photos of British steel eating their competition alive on the boards. The last time I was in Melbourne, I shot another Northside Wheelers in-store display, classic racing track machine, that bright red Cecil Walker. They’re both the same owner, with an impeccable taste for steel race machines.
This one’s a keeper! See more for yourself in the Gallery!

Chas and His Cinelli Rider Collection Cap
One of the true hustlers in the urban cycling scene is Chas from TCB Courier. Also a Mash / Cinelli rider, Chas was approached by the Italian brand to design a cycling cap for their Rider Collection Cap lineup. Check out this interview as Chas talks about what got him into bikes and the stigma associated with cycling caps!
I’ve got one and it’s one of the more unique caps out these days. You can pick one up at Cinelli’s Winged Store!

Road Art Makes a Cinelli Vigorelli Lazer Edition
French bicycle boutique Road Art took an everyday Cinelli Vigorelli and gave it some extra juice. I always wondered why Cinelli didn’t bank off the Lazer aesthetic before. This bike looks incredible!

Lucas Brunelle Goes to Africa
This came out so rad. I saw one of the rough cuts at Eurobike. Here’s the scoop:
“Lucas Brunelle Goes to Africa movie has been produced by CINELLI and edited by Benny Zenga.
Filmed by Lucas Brunelle while riding the new #BootlegHobo cinelli bies through the 1700km of the legendary Diamond Coast route, final stage of the Tour d’Afrique!
Hobo is a totally new steel bicycle, engineered and equipped for off-road rides on long distances,
Tour d’Afrique has been an incredible test for our new bike as well as an outstanding way to announce Hobo to the world!
With such a cast a short introduction about our friends spotted in the video is a must!
Chas Christiansen, 100% pure San Francisco, is one of the top riders of the Cinelli Mash Team, iconic figure of the fixed-gear culture, always on the highest steps of Criteriums, Alleycats and Cyclo-Cross Single-Speed races podiums.
Lucas Brunelle is the famous video-maker who introduced the first-person point-of-view shooting technique in cycling races thanks to his great riding skills and the innovative helmet-integrated cameras-system with which is filming and reporting the most extreme race contests all over the globe since more than ten years.
Last but not least, Dario Toso couldn’t miss, explorer of the contemporary, historical ambassador of the Bootleg State of Mind.”

Eurobike 2013: Cinelli and Columbus
Let’s face it, the name Cinelli and Columbus is synonymous with Urban Cycling. Personally, I feel like they’ve done a lot to bring alleycats, track bikes and general radness to the industry. Especially with sponsorships and their collaboration with MASH over the years.
At this year’s Eurobike, Cinelli’s booth featured an extensive Columbus display, the Bootleg HOBO with Lucas Brunelle’s video and the newest from MASH. I even ran into Red Hook Crit Barcelona champion Fish while I was shooting photos. Check out more in the Gallery!

Cycle Smithy Cinelli Laser Pursuit Track
The Urban Cycling Hall of Fame committee met last week in Chicago to select the first year’s inductees, as well as next year’s board. I still can’t believe I was in Chicago for two full days and only got to pedal around for an afternoon. But hey, work is work and sometimes I fly into a city without getting to fully emerse myself in it. There are dozens upon dozens of rad shops I wanted to check out but didn’t have time. Even though we only went to one shop, I have to say, I’m pretty stoked on visiting this one in particular.
Cycle Smithy has so much eye candy hanging from the walls and ceiling of their space. It’s overwhelming and was totally unexpected, mostly because I had never heard of the shop before. With the short amount of time we had there, I managed to shoot a few (quick) detail photos of this Cinelli Laser pursuit track. It’s a bit of an odd-bird build, with a mix of Italian and Japanese components (that seatpost) but I’m not complaining. Nor was FYXO. I wish it wasn’t raining so I could have taken it a block or so away to shoot better photos but this is what I got.

The 2013 Red Hook Crit Barcelona Cinelli 824 Prize Track Bike
For each Red Hook Crit race, there is a prize bike and each year, the prize bikes just keep getting better! For example, here’s a look at the 2013 Red Hook Crit Barcelona Cinelli 824 track bike, which is arguably the best prize bike yet. Assembled by Barceloneta Bikes.

Mash SF: Parallax Frameset
Here’s the production sample for the bike that the Mash team has been riding for the past year and a half. Dubbed the Parallax, here’s the scoop from Mash:
“We are happy to introduce our 2014 offering with Cinelli. The Parallax frame set was developed and field-tested over the past 18 months, with Chas and Walton deciding and tuning the bike’s geos. Like with any MASH project, every detail is fleshed by our group of friends. Garrett designed the graphics and colors of the bike and matching skin-suit, drawing inspiration from charts used to check the sharpness of camera optics. Enclosed are some details from this collaboration. Look for more updates as the racers prepare for the third installment of the Red Hook Crit series here, in Barcelona.”

Recent Roll: Chas and His Cinelli Mash
My friends in San Francisco are the best. They’re all hustlers in their own perspective professions and regardless what people say about the “Cali” lifestyle, they’re always on the grind. When he’s not running traveling the world racing, he’s running his company, TCB Courier with a handful of other like-minded individuals. Call him many things: “freshly shaven”, entrepreneur, #fixiefamous, whatever, this dude is living the dream.
I stayed with Chas for over a week the last time I was visiting and out of everything I shot on my trip, these three photos of him riding that green Cinelli Mash prototype track frame are some of my favorites. All shot from a moving bicycle…

Mash SF: 2014 Cinelli Histogram Frameset
I have to say, this is the best looking Histogram to date. Before there were dozens of modern, aluminum low pros, there was the Cinelli Mash Histogram. These frames have found their way to the far reaches of the globe and for 2014, Mash did something a little new:
“With the 2014 trade shows approaching, there will be more information available on collaborations we have in store with Cinelli. The first announcement is the revised finish of our Histogram set. This polished frame shares the original lines, updated in grayscale tones. We will open a pre-order 30 days before these land in the US later this fall. Stay tuned!”
I’m sure I’ll be seeing and shooting one of these soon enough…
