Visit Trinidad, Colorado Presents: A Santa Fe Trail Gravel Riding Outpost

Trinidad, Colorado, is a gravel riding destination and outpost you ought to visit.

As a testament to the growing popularity of gravel cycling and its ability to spur rural economic development, Trinidad, Colorado, has, in a short few years, established itself as one of the state’s most exciting gravel bike destinations. Before 2020, not many cyclists considered the southern Colorado Front Range corridor as a place to ride a bike. Now, this former outpost on the Santa Fe Trail offers year-round opportunities to ride some of Colorado’s best gravel road conditions…

Bikepacking Roots: Rolling Horse Route – Northwestern Colorado Multi-Day Tour

If you’re looking for a two-week-long tour of epic doubletrack in Northwestern Colorado, then check out the latest Bikepacking Roots CRoP! The Rolling Horse route was designed with particular attention to the region’s rich natural and human history. It roughly circumnavigated the Grand Hogback–a 90-mile-long spine of upturned rock marking the geologic meeting of the Southern Rockies with the Colorado Plateau.

The route seeks to reveal the intimate connections between the many varied landscapes once stewarded by the Nuche (Ute people); specifically, those whose ancestors hunted amongst the high places we now know as the Elks, Raggeds, Flattops and Roan; and gathered along the banks of the Roaring Fork, Crystal, Colorado, and White Rivers.

Unicorns are Real: The Story of an Elusive 1991 Yeti Tree Frog

There aren’t many modern bicycle brands that have a history quite as rich as Yeti, let alone a diehard cult following of collectors and fans for the early bikes. Coming into a steel F.R.O or Yeti Ultimate is usually enough to be considered a “Holy Grail” find for most. However, there is another bike in the early Yeti lineup that is so rare many will never see one in person and more modern followers of the brand may not know even exists. This is the story of an elusive Yeti Tree Frog…

Welcome to the Neighborhood: Treehouse Cyclery Opens in Denver’s Five Points

The door is freshly painted on the corner of Downing Street and 30th in the northeast Denver, Colorado neighborhood of Five Points. Behind the new blue facade, light washes in to reveal high ceilings and smooth wooden floors—heavily polished over time by both varnish and foot traffic. The rest of the space has that just-righted tidiness of a host’s house before a dinner party: intentional, inviting and immaculate. It’s an old building with a new idea, but Treehouse Cyclery isn’t its first bike shop.

Read on for Hailey Moore‘s shop visit to Denver’s newest, community-focused, bike shop: Treehouse Cyclery.
