Crust Bikes Boost Spaced Evasion Trail 140 is a Step Through Bike Inspired by the Honda Trail 90
While John was visiting Crust Bikes in Australia on a work trip – ok, he was surfing mostly – Matt shared with him a pet project of his: the Evasion Trail 140 ($1,175). We already shared the prototype build but these frames are in stock now at Crust Bikes. This bike is a product of Matt’s affinity for the mighty Postie Bike aka the Honda Trail 90 (or 110). In short, the Evasion Trail is exactly what it looks like: an Evasion rear end welded to a longer step thru front end, making it more compatible with a flat, riser, alt, townie, or whatever-you-call-it kind of bar.
This wild version of the Evasion is also mountain bike boost-spaced on the front and rear of the bike. While you could finagle drops on it, it’s designed for flat bars.

Crust Bikes New EPO is a (Dope) US-Made Road Frame
Crust Bikes‘ latest model, the EPO ($2100 frameset), is a US-Made road frame, built from Italian steel. Or perhaps its 38 mm max tire clearance makes it an All-Road bike, right? Who knows anymore? Anyway, the EPO is built by Darren Larkin in Connecticut in very small batches.
It’s made up of an assortment of the finest Columbus steel available. The Italian tubes provide a ride quality that will have you wanting to push this bike like you’ve been juiced up and are breaking away in the ’99 Tour de France. Each frame comes paired up with an ENVE AR Disc Fork to match the frame’s tire clearance and keep the front end light and nimble.
If you’re an AXS devotee, the EPO is available with or without shifter housing guides. Check out more at Crust Bikes.

Crust Bikes Has a Size Large Chunk Frameset in Stock in the USA
The Chunk frame, a made-in-Japan fillet brazed cruiser-inspired modern mountain bike by Crumbworks in Japan, caught our eyes when it was announced last year. These bikes feature non-boost spacing, thru-axles, and disc brakes, designed for dirt riding and touring. If you live in the USA, ordering one from Japan is expensive, but Crust Bikes brought in a few frames from Crumbworks and now only a size large remains. Available in raw for the paint finish of your choice or run it raw for $2,100. Check out more at Crust Bikes.

Crust Bikes 650b Wheels
At $525, the Crust Rim Brake Wheels are an ideal option for your 650b QR bike. They were designed with 42-48 mm tires in mind, are double walled for durability, but slimmed down where they can be to keep them as light as possible. For rear spacing, there are two options: 130 mm and 135mm. The driver in each rear hub has 3 pawls with 3 teeth each that provide a nice, crisp engagement. You can also choose between a dynamo with Shutter Precision for $100 more or non-dynamo front wheel.

Crust Bikes Hold Your Horses – HYH – Grips
Eagle-eyed readers would have noted some new grips from Crust Bikes in our Australia HQ showcase. Well, the Hold Your Horses grips, or HYH for short, have just dropped in the brand’s webshop. The HYH grip has a comfortable ergonomic form, inspired by early BMX and MTB grips in the 1980s. This shape is comfy no matter if you’re riding two-hundred miles or two. It’s not a lock on, but its a thick rubber and a tight fit, so it grabs the bar and stays put. The benefits to it not being a lock on means they don’t cost $45, which is cool for everyone, and you get super cool moto-esque hand guard flanges on either side, which work really well.

True to form, Spencer has been using this bike as his touring rig for years and decided to put the most outlandish tire clearance claims to the test.
