Photos and words by Jen Abercrombie

“I’d already set the goal in my head that I was going to be the first girl on MASH. I don’t know how it’s going to happen, but it’s going to happen.” – Chelsea Weidinger

It’s January and everyone is thinking of resolutions and goals for the coming year. As cross season ended, I spent a day in San Francisco riding and talking with Chelsea Weidinger, of the MASH Cyclocross team, about how she got here and where she’s going. Chelsea hails from Columbus, Ohio. After stints working in a bank and a juice bar, she decided that coffee and bike racing were more her speed, and moved to San Francisco in 2012.

The Pro’s Closet Talks to Chris Chance

You’re gonna be seeing a lot of Chris Chance and Fat Chance over the next few weeks:

The Pro’s Closet caught up with Chris Chance at the “Mountain Bike Hall of Fame” in the spring of 2015. In this mini-doc, Chris describes the early days of Fat Chance, the forces that pulled him away from the bicycle world, and the passion that led him back!”

Genre de Vie

While the standard issue talking head approach to bicycle documentary can get old relatively fast, I found this one in particular to be quite informative. Filmed in Copenhagen and NYC, two cycling hubs, Genre de Vie takes a look at urban life and the empowerment achieved by using the bicycle as a form of transportation.

If you’re an architect, urban planner, or someone who is enthralled by urbanism, give this one a watch for sure.

Poler: Campvibes Comminuqué W15

Poler’s newest newsprint magazine, the Campvibes Communiqué, is now online and features an interview with Erik and myself on the Oregon Outback. Benji from Poler knows us personally, so this interview goes a bit deeper than your standard interview. The Outback was one of the toughest rides I’ve ever ridden and documented, so it made for some juicy content.

Pick up the Campvibes Comminuqué for $5 at Poler.

On a related note: who is planning on doing it this year? I’m thinking it’s time for round two!

I Love Berkeley Supply!

Eli, aka “extra cream cheese”, is one of the absolute nicest dudes you’ll ever meet. That is, if you happen to go to his shop in Denver, Berkeley Supply. His store sells only made in the USA apparel and even though Eli doesn’t talk about here, or show it for that matter, he’s got one of the sickest bikes from NAHBS last year too!

I hope you’re still riding your Avery County Cross dude.

Keep killing it! Nice video, Adam!
