The Radavist’s 2024 Photographic Year in Review is how we celebrate this year’s visual achievements. In compiling this massive gallery it helps us reflect on our team’s hard work from the past twelve months, while acting as motivation for the year ahead.
We are delighted to launch our first feature-length documentary film, Camera Corner: Wende Cragg Documents the Birth of Mountain Biking. It profiles Wende’s work and its lasting impact on the cycling industry. Photographer Wende Cragg has been a pillar of the cycling community since she began documenting road, cyclocross, and the early days of mountain biking in Marin County, California, and throughout the United States over 50 years ago.

The Camp Snap Camera is a stripped back, minimal digital camera inspired by the disposable cameras of the 1980s and 1990s. Its plastic lens gives the photos a unique quality, unique in today’s razor-sharp glass found on mirrorless systems, while offering a true-to-form photographic experience. Simply point and shoot. At the MADE Bike Show this year, Dustin Klein hung out with John while he documented the Sycip Double Dribble full suspension bike. Dustin just posted the video on his “Everything’s Been Done” YouTube channel, so enjoy!
If we shot your bike at 2024 MADE, here’s a Dropbox folder with all the photos. We’ve got one more bike gallery next week, and at that point, we’ll also upload those photos. We encourage framebuilders to use these photos on their websites and on social media, and if you need high-resolution photos, please shoot John or Josh an email.
This was a record-breaking effort from our team, with eighty-four total bikes documented.
We do this out of love for the framebuilding community and thoroughly enjoyed seeing all of you!
Do event photos tell the true story? Do they just remind us of a cool day on the bike that we can show off on social media? Or can they tell a different story, one we might not even know was taking place? Within the context of the Lu Lacka Wyco Hundo gravel cycling event, photographer Abe Landes wonders what role event photos play in telling the true story of the ride. As much as The Radavist is about bikes, it is also intrinsically linked to cameras and film photography. There is even a whole category of strictly film galleries called Recent Roll that dates back to 2010! We take pride in our photography so it makes sense for us to feature some of our favorite cameras in a series we’re calling Obscura.
This is a reference to the first-ever photographic device, the camera obscura.
