One of our favorite bikes from MADE was the Ron’s Bikes R-Werks 29er EVOO. Yes, it has rim brakes, and yes, it evokes feelings of the best resto-mods but with bigger wheels. Ronnie made a video walking through the project and here’s part one.

Ronnie’s Alumalith debuted here in our 2022 Philly Bike Expo coverage and since that virgin voyage, he’s put countless miles on it from the Northeast to the Southwest. While Arya from Rons Bikes missed being able to ride amongst the flowers of this year’s Nutmeg Spring Fling, that did not keep her from reflecting. Waxing poetic about ancient river ferries, French Randonneur bikes, and East Haddam Land Trust alike, make sure you don’t miss this recap of Nutmeg Spring Fling.
Inspired by the work of Charlie Cunningham and other cult classic aluminum steeds, the Ron’s Bikes Aluminus Maximus gravel bike ($2,000 frameset) is the anti-carbon propaganda demigod we need from small-batch bicycle production. These bikes are made in the USA by Frank the Welder and have been selling like hot cakes over the past several months, so when it came time to list them on RonsBikes.com, Arya and Ronnie only had sizes 51 cm and 60 cm left. So if you have short legs or long legs, they’ve gotcha covered.
We’d like to remind everyone that Arya and Ronnie lost their factory and means of primary income last year and it’s been hard on the brand. So if you have any free money and would like to see Ron’s Bikes grow, check out their in-stock-today items and throw them some love.
If you follow Ron’s Bikes on YouTube and are subscribed to their newsletter, then you have already hear but Arya and Ronnie closed their Nutmeg Needleworks factory. We won’t go into the details, that’s why we’re sharing the video, and it’s best to hear if from the bare-chested horse’s mouth anyway. Although, this paragram hit hard:

When Josh posted up his Alumalith, with a custom Portage bag he collaborated on with Cedaero, it caused a rukkus! Karl from Cedaero got flooded with requests for these throwback MTB bags from the 1980s and 90s, so we decided to make a run for our readership!
We made two colors; waxed canvas burgundy ($134.95) like Josh specced and all-black cordura ($124.95). These bags are bike geometry/size specific and Karl made them to fit the Alumalith but they will fit any bike but you’ve gotta be mindful with the sizing!
