It’s the last Friday of the year, and that means it’s time for our annual Top Ten Readers’ Rides list! Started in 2011, Readers’ Rides showcases the unique bikes owned by the readership of The Radavist. Like our Top Ten Bike Reviews list we posted yesterday, we compiled data from views and comments to distill down ten prime examples. This year’s list has some wild ones, so let’s get to it!
The totally redesigned Surly Moonlander shocked fatbikers with its 24 x 6.2” tires, long wheelbase, and a Pinion gearbox. Surly‘s 27.5 wheeled drop bar mountain bike, Grappler ($1899), is a boost-spaced off-road tourer. New for 2025, the Grappler gets hit with lavender in a new color called “Purple Dust Bunny.” The Grappler’s steel chassis clears a 27.5 x 2.8″ tire for rough terrain or 29 x 2.1″ for hardpack touring. Back for 2024 with a fresh redesign focused on increased security and simplified installation, Surly’s popular 8 and 24-Pack Racks provide two size options depending on your cargo capacity needs. The 8-Pack Rack ($130) has a smaller deck platform (160 mm x 270 mm) and the 24 Pack Rack ($155) is a modern porteur rack, with a larger platform (400 mm x 270 mm).
